If want to do a more traditional date, you could do a "theme dinner and movie evening" such as a back to the 50's date. Here's how:

• Have dinner at a 50's themed burger and malt place. One of our favorites is Snuffy's Malt Shop in St. Paul, MN.
• Watch a movie at one of several drive-ins still operating. We love the Cottage View Drive-In in Cottage Grove. They have parking for 1,000 cars and charge just $5.00 per person.

Stargazing is a favorite pursuit of lovers. Change it up by visiting a planetarium. The Minneapolis Planetarium is at 300 Nicollet Mall in the Downtown Minneapolis Public Library. Admission is cheap. There are planetariums in many other Minnesota locations as well.

Combine the movie date idea with a science date and visit the Minnesota Science Museum. Watch an Omnitheater film, browse the amazing exhibits, have lunch or a snack in one of 3 cafes, shop in the gift shop...and all of this in the beautiful museum location that overlooks the Mississippi River.
