Romantic Words of Love

Do you need some romantic words of love, romantic conversation starters and romantic phrases to express your affection for the one you love?

Romantic words of love Words of love should be spoken. In the presence of the one we love we want to speak of our love for them. Yet we sometimes feel inhibited or shy. Have ever felt at a loss for words to express your depth of affection for the one you love?

It's not unusual to feel a bit tongue-tied when that special someone is near. Just when we would like to let the object of our affection know that our heart beats faster when they are close by, the words refuse to come.

Here is how you can creatively express your romantic sentiments in a variety of ways.

Creative Ways to Speak Romantic Words of Love

Romantic Poetry

Romantic love poems allow you to use the words of others to express your feelings about your lover. The passionate words found in romantic poems help set the mood for intimate relationship.

Imagine yourself quoting Shakespeare’s Love Sonnet 18 which begins: "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate."

Or the words of my personal favorite of all the romantic love poems I have ever read, Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Sonnets From the Portuguese, which begins: "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways." This excerpt from that famous romantic poem will melt any lover's heart.

Romantic Music:

Sometimes what is too difficult to say can be sung. Speak romantic words of love through music. If you play a guitar or other musical instrument, serenade your love with one of her favorite romantic songs. Even better, compose one just for your lover. Even if you don’t play or sing you can give your sweetheart a romantic CD that includes lyrics that express what you want to say. Even better, you can make your own CD mix and creatively "tell the story" of your romantic feelings.

Romantic Body Language:

This is the silent language of romance. Most of what we allow someone to know about our feelings is "spoken" without a word. A famous poem by Ben Jonson begins: "Drink to me only with thine eyes, And I will pledge with mine..." The lingering touch of a tender look says you are interested. As your eyes caress each other you extend a subtle invitation to know each other better.

Here are just a few of many other ways your body speaks to another:

  • A sincere smile speaks an invitation.
  • Standing close to someone is a shared intimacy.
  • A direct, light, touch on the arm of another shows you care.

You can come up with lots of other romantic conversation starters and ways to share romantic phrases.

  • Speak your romantic words of love with cards you buy...or make your own.
  • Write romantic phrases in lipstick on the bedroom mirror.
  • Write ""I love you" or something else romantic in the sand when you are at the beach.
  • Best of all: Be brave and speak your love. Whisper romantic words of love in your lover’s ear.
