Have you been trying to come up with Valentine's Day creative ideas, but find yourself stumped? Can’t remember what you did last year because you’ve spent the last several Valentines Days doing the exact same things? Here are some ideas that should help to inspire you to new heights.
Mix It Up
In the beginning of a relationship, people often put in the effort to come up with clever or original dates, but, after a few years, most couples start settling into the same old routines. This Valentines Day, try something different. Go ice skating. Try a wine tasting. Take a hike. Paint some pottery. What about skydiving?
If you can, attempt to find an activity that neither of you has ever tried before. Few things are as romantic as a shared adventure.
Make ‘Em Laugh
It’s common knowledge that one way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. However, a lesser-known route is through his funny bone. As far as Valentines Day activities are concerned, this may seem a bit out of the ordinary. Also, laughter releases endorphins into the body, and this chemical is known reduce stress and create a natural high. Do a search for comedy troupes, improv shows, or stand-up clubs in the area, and plan for a relaxing evening loaded with laughs.
Massages
Everyone loves getting a nice, relaxing massage, but not everyone loves giving them. Avoid any negotiations or inequalities by letting professionals take care of you both.
You can always call a local spa and book a couple’s massage. However, a viable alternative to going out for your massages is to contact a licensed massage therapist and have him or her come to your home. The best and easiest way to find a good, licensed massage therapist is to ask around, but if none of your friends know of any, contact a massage therapy school in your state and they can help you to find a qualified practitioner in your area.
Get Away
When people think of Valentines Day activities, this is one of the classics, and it’s a classic for a reason. You may not have the time to travel to some exotic location, but that’s not the point. There’s something freeing about staying in a place where neither of you will have to do the dishes or make the bed in the morning.
However, even if you are just driving to a hotel in the next city or heading to a bed and breakfast a couple of hours away, that doesn’t mean you can’t act like a tourist. Try going online and finding an attraction or a restaurant at your destination that you’ve never been to before. Moreover, if your hotel has a spa—well, nowhere is it written that you can’t get away and have a massage, too.
As you may have noticed, every one of these Valentines Day activities suggests breaking out of old patterns and trying things that are new or different, and that’s because it’s just that simple. Creativity and a little innovation really are the keys to creating a truly memorable Valentines Day.
