Valentines Day Party Games

Fun Valentines Day Party games to add some spark to the day! These Valentine's Day party ideas are great for bringing people together. Valentines Day Party Games Valentines Day games are not for everybody. For some, Valentines Day is a holiday that should only be spent with that certain special someone. If you are among those who want to celebrate with a "private party" you may enjoy Put Another Log on the Fire.

The party games, below, are perfect for people who enjoy spending the most romantic day of the year in the company of friends. Prepare some tasty food (or ask others to bring some dishes as well), purchase a few inexpensive Valentine party supplies, and let the fun begin.

Singles’ Mixer

If you can, it’s a good idea to try and invite an even number of men and women to a Valentines Day party. After all, on a day like Valentines Day who knows what can happen?

Famous Couples

If you have a fair number of guests coming to your party, who have never met before, this game is a great ice-breaker and a good way to get people talking.

Before the party, write the names of famous couples on sticky notes or mailing labels. As the guests arrive, stick the name of a couple onto their back. Now each person must try to guess the couple on their back by asking the others at the party yes-or-no questions. (Examples: Is the couple real? It is a historical couple?) The first person to guess their couple wins, but the host should allow the game to continue until most people have figured out their couple.

Couples Party

Here are some Valentines Day party games for adults who are already paired up.

Roll a Ball

Each couple gets 2 ping-pong balls. One at a time and without using their hands, the man must attempt to roll the ball across the woman’s body from one hand to the other. The woman then has to try and roll the ball up one of the man’s pant legs and down the other. The first couple to accomplish both tasks wins.

Your Song

If you have a group of married couples, this can be a fun—and funny!—game to play.

Hand out a piece of paper and a pen to everyone in the group. Then have everyone write down the names of six of their favorite songs and number them 1-6. Once everyone is finished, reveal that the song titles they wrote down actually have meaning.

  1. Their first song—how they felt after their first kiss
  2. Their second song—how they felt after their first night together
  3. Their third song—how they felt about their honeymoon
  4. Their fourth song—how they felt (or will feel) after a year of marriage
  5. Their fifth song—what they think about when they’re together now
  6. Their sixth song—how they will feel about each other after 50 years together
Family-Friendly Fun

This is one of those Valentines Day party games that everyone can enjoy.

Party Word Mix

Before the party begins, on pieces of paper and write down 20 or 30 different words that people associate with Valentines Day. (Ex. “love,” “romance,” chocolate,” etc.) Make sure there are at least twice the number of words as there are people attending.

Mix up the pieces of paper and have everyone select two. Now let the fun begin! Each person must then create a poem or a song with his or her two words in it. If you have enough people, you might consider putting people into pairs or teams. Let everyone know that their piece can be as funny or romantic or serious as they’d like it to be. It’s a good idea to set a not-too-long time limit. Once the time limit is up, each person or team steps forward and shares their creation for the group.

Even though there’s often a lot of pressure surrounding Valentines Day, it can be just another reason to throw a party. Get some inexpensive Valentine party gear and with these Valentines Day party games you and your guests are sure to have a ball!
